</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1ZWeFBy1uFc/UTFtjVJkxxI/AAAAAAAAAYs/gCSQNM6yeNE/s1600/100_0721.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1ZWeFBy1uFc/UTFtjVJkxxI/AAAAAAAAAYs/gCSQNM6yeNE/s320/100_0721.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This is a over sized Queen Quilt i made for my niece. This was her wedding quilt. She wanted blue. I think i collected to many blue's. LOL but i will use them. It is very easy to make so here are the steps.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-R38NQ2229uM/UTF4xbhTWpI/AAAAAAAAAaI/N8o_PlDDKbc/s1600/100_0680.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-R38NQ2229uM/UTF4xbhTWpI/AAAAAAAAAaI/N8o_PlDDKbc/s320/100_0680.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
First i cut strips (you need 2 sets) each strip is 4 inches wide. (what size you want) (see above) <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZZst3hr10mc/UTFuSpFZA4I/AAAAAAAAAY4/peFmqtRc5lU/s1600/100_0684.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZZst3hr10mc/UTFuSpFZA4I/AAAAAAAAAY4/peFmqtRc5lU/s320/100_0684.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Sew them together 1 strip set with white in the center the 2nd strip set with white on the outside.<br />
now press (white in the middle press seams to outside) (white on the outside press to the middle). This will help when matching your seams.<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fsa7fdDFTxk/UTFzaLWUTTI/AAAAAAAAAZY/gj4vJHzwkDc/s1600/100_0685.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fsa7fdDFTxk/UTFzaLWUTTI/AAAAAAAAAZY/gj4vJHzwkDc/s200/100_0685.JPG" width="200" /></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zN99XHtTAwA/UTFvbo3Gd9I/AAAAAAAAAZA/gljZCD5NaLw/s1600/100_0686.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zN99XHtTAwA/UTFvbo3Gd9I/AAAAAAAAAZA/gljZCD5NaLw/s320/100_0686.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JyA0VRyXLE8/UTFz2h-d_0I/AAAAAAAAAZg/WJ0i-MhQPGw/s1600/100_0687.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JyA0VRyXLE8/UTFz2h-d_0I/AAAAAAAAAZg/WJ0i-MhQPGw/s320/100_0687.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Next you will cut these into 4 inch strips. The whole length. (as above) Next make a 9 patch. Sew and press. Directions for 9 patch. take 1 of the stripes that is now a 4 inch (or your size) with the 2white's on the outside and sew it to 1 with your colors on the outside. next add another to the opposite side. see above. Should look like this one below when finished.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AzOOsYmEWEs/UTFwCr-ik8I/AAAAAAAAAZI/NwvlFXXoi1o/s1600/100_0689.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AzOOsYmEWEs/UTFwCr-ik8I/AAAAAAAAAZI/NwvlFXXoi1o/s320/100_0689.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Next measure your square and what ever that size it will be the size for your white squares you will need to cut. these white squares will be sewed between the square you just made. Alternating sewed colored block and white block. (I lay mine out on the bed and then label them so i don't get mixed up when i sew them together.) See how it is coming together. <br />
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QGT95GlnNz0/UTFyImb0FBI/AAAAAAAAAZQ/bMQ3RtD0-Eg/s1600/100_0694.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QGT95GlnNz0/UTFyImb0FBI/AAAAAAAAAZQ/bMQ3RtD0-Eg/s320/100_0694.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
You can use any color you want. Any size you want. This quilt comes together fast. There are a lot of ways to make this quilt. you could make it all red and white. All green and white. Its really up to you. So is the size.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hr7WEKIwTLE/UTF1N9piP_I/AAAAAAAAAZs/NqEJ1WsJLjw/s1600/100_0696.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hr7WEKIwTLE/UTF1N9piP_I/AAAAAAAAAZs/NqEJ1WsJLjw/s320/100_0696.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Next i pin mine together and stitched in the ditch. (Stitch in the ditch is just sewing right in the seam) just go slow. You can chose any way you want to quilt the layers together. Last i put on the binding. I like 2 1/4 inch wide strips and i press it in half. <a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-b-_cdzJy9wo/UTF3WoQ5s4I/AAAAAAAAAaA/d05uF6U77sE/s1600/100_0718.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-b-_cdzJy9wo/UTF3WoQ5s4I/AAAAAAAAAaA/d05uF6U77sE/s320/100_0718.JPG" width="320" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RCkqm3fgqts/UTF2qgNC0WI/AAAAAAAAAZ4/ErU_kV1TJbU/s1600/100_0728.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RCkqm3fgqts/UTF2qgNC0WI/AAAAAAAAAZ4/ErU_kV1TJbU/s320/100_0728.JPG" width="320" /></a> Whoot your done. Oh yes don't forget to make a label.<br />
Many thanks for looking. <br />

<br />
Here is a small quilt i made for my brother-in-laws father. His wife passed away and family members brought me some of her dresses. I cut them up and made this quilt for him. My sister finished the binding. He loved it. It was just right for him to cover up or wrap around him. SO you can see i have been busy. Hope you enjoy.<br />

Yes they have grown. The black one is Taz he is the oldest<br />
Bongo is the baby but he is just a little bit bigger than Taz. They are really close.They do everything together.<br />
As you can see when i sew or press they get under my ironing board and nap inside the pillow case together. I am glad we got them close together so they could grow up together. Spoiled too. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I have finally got back to my quilting and just started hand quilting on the fan quilt.
<br />
<br />It has just been so hot here it makes it hard to do things. I am ready for cooler weather. These 100+ degree days is bad. All my grass is dead and a lot of my outside plants too. My muscadine grape vines is the only thing we water and they look ok. Have a few grapes on them.
<br />
<br />Taz is growing like a weed he is now 8 months old and weights in at 4 1/2 pounds. Still fast. Yep i still can't catch him.
<br />
<br />My hubby got sick on me but is ok now. My daughter has been real sick with stomach problems and was in the hospital. Still sick and now getting second opinion. I had my grandkids while my daughter was in the hospital. My fun time.
<br />
<br />So as you can see now i have to get back to my sewing.
<br />thanks for reading.

Square up your block.<br />I decided to add a black border around each fan at 2 1/2 inches. I also added the same black to the outside border at 6 inches. You can do yours any way you like. I think the black brings out the colors in the fan blades. I have gotten a little behind on my quilting but i will get back to it.<br /><br />Took a little break from the computer. I really needed it. Had problems with my DSL which was due to my provider. SO i guess it was the perfect time for my break.<br /><br />Now time to get back to my quilting. I am working on the one i last told you about. Got all the fabric's cut. Now got to make some bias strips for the trim around the flowers. Then i might be ready to sew this one together. Pic's when i get it done. May be a little while cause there is a lot of sewing to do.<br /><br />That's it for now<br />Thanks for stopping byTxNanahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10457128659242620778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6210775305037635791.post-9271714174775003132010-01-28T21:25:00.000-08:002010-01-28T22:09:46.673-08:00Pictures of dress-scarfs-hatsHowdy! I hope each of you had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Hope the food and company was a special time for you. I was lucky to spend time with my family. I received a new Digital camera and a Flip Cam for Christmas. My family knew what i wanted and blessed me with it. Now i think i am special. LOL! Now i have no excuse not to take pictures to share with you all.<br /><br />Well now its time to get back to my love of quilting. I have started cutting out one. It will take me longer to make this one. Its going to be a queen size. Will be beautiful when done. The pattern is of a wall hanging but i have chose to make it into a quilt. Here is the picture from the book. Can you see all the flowers each one has to be cut out. That's what i am doing now. 4 buds /4pedals and 4 green pedals for each block. So if i am making a queen i will need OMG almost 2,000 little pieces. So if you don't here from me for a little bit you will know what i am doing.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_OEWvlsF5Xb0/S02AFYgTt5I/AAAAAAAAAMo/OAvRccp_aJ4/s1600-h/Tulip-Quilt.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 246px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_OEWvlsF5Xb0/S02AFYgTt5I/AAAAAAAAAMo/OAvRccp_aJ4/s320/Tulip-Quilt.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5426133956016977810" border="0" /></a><br />Oh yeah i did make a few little things for my Granddaughter. She is into scarf's. She wants me to make her a flowing dress for her Birthday. Well you know how Grandmom's are. We try to please and spoil them rotten. :D that's me. Will add pictures later cause they are still on my camera.TxNanahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10457128659242620778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6210775305037635791.post-74374431796140391312009-11-08T17:22:00.000-08:002009-11-08T18:44:00.533-08:00Panel Quilt Raggedy Ann & Andy<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_OEWvlsF5Xb0/SveAvg9MGGI/AAAAAAAAALY/MSiqnFL3yoI/s1600-h/Baby+Quilt+Raggedy+Ann+%26+Andy.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_OEWvlsF5Xb0/SveAvg9MGGI/AAAAAAAAALY/MSiqnFL3yoI/s320/Baby+Quilt+Raggedy+Ann+%26+Andy.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5401927831842986082" border="0" /></a><br /><span style="font-size:100%;"><span style="font-family:times new roman;">This Baby Quilt is made from a panel. All i did was add borders. Really fun to make. The back is striped together with 2 car fabric's. I did some machine quilting and i also tied some areas. I stitched around the car and truck cause i wanted them to puff out. This one is for a little boy age going on two. This is laid out on a queen size bed so you can see my twin size is bigger than most. I like to make them big enough that kids can grow up with the quilt. I still need to do a little more quilting in the upper and lower gray area. Then this quilt will be finished.<br /></span></span><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_OEWvlsF5Xb0/SvOs0LBYlnI/AAAAAAAAALI/8IWRqLIO0wI/s1600-h/mch+quilting.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_OEWvlsF5Xb0/SvOs0LBYlnI/AAAAAAAAALI/8IWRqLIO0wI/s200/mch+quilting.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400850390459127410" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_OEWvlsF5Xb0/SvOtOf6hKHI/AAAAAAAAALQ/FDLtVlKf5pc/s1600-h/Backing.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_OEWvlsF5Xb0/SvOtOf6hKHI/AAAAAAAAALQ/FDLtVlKf5pc/s200/Backing.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400850842744072306" border="0" /></a><br /><span style="font-size:100%;"><span style="font-family:times new roman;"><br /></span></span><br /><span style="font-size:100%;"><span style="font-family:times new roman;"><br /><br /><br /><br />With Christmas around the corner i am going to be making gifts for family members.
